How to Deal with Abnormal Exhaust Pressure of PSA Nitrogen Generation Equipment?

Abnormal exhaust pressure of PSA nitrogen generators is a relatively common equipment failure, which can be divided into excessively high pressure or excessively low pressure.

When the exhaust pressure of the nitrogen generator is too high, it will have an adverse impact on the normal operation of the equipment, such as causing accelerated wear of molecular sieves.

This situation is mostly caused by failures in some system components.

You can consider troubleshooting and handling from the following aspects:

• Adjust the pressure setting of the equipment to reduce the outlet pressure and reduce the risk of molecular sieve wear.
• If there is noise during the operation of the equipment, focus on checking the solenoid valve. Adjust or replace the solenoid valve according to the situation.
• Check whether the one-way valve is leaking and whether the blowback valve is opened too much. Try to replace the one-way valve or its internal sealing ring, or adjust the opening of the blowback valve.
• Check whether the adsorption pressure is normal. If the adsorption pressure exceeds 0.8Mpa, reduce the inlet pressure; if the adsorption pressure is lower than 0.6Mpa, increase the inlet pressure.

If the outlet pressure is too low, it is recommended to troubleshoot the following problems:

• Check whether the filter is clogged, and whether the inlet and outlet pipelines are leaking or blocked.
• Check whether the safety valve is invalid. If there is any abnormality, replace it in time.
• Check whether the nitrogen generator's PLC is faulty. If so, repair or replace it.
• Check whether the adsorption pressure is normal. For the long-term unstable adsorption pressure, consider installing an air storage tank at the inlet to stabilize the pressure.
• Check whether the performance of the air compressor is abnormal to ensure that the air compressor has sufficient air supply capacity.
• Check whether there is air cross-talk in the valves of the adsorption dryer and nitrogen analysis unit.
