Those familiar with air separation equipment may know that in the PSA nitrogen generation system, the compressed air used as raw material is provided by the air compressor. In addition to continuously supplying compressed air, the air compressor also affects the flow rate and pressure of the finished nitrogen.
The relationship between them is as follows:

Relationship Between Nitrogen Flow Rate and Compressed Air PressureIn the PSA nitrogen generation system, the nitrogen generation main unit requires a certain working pressure to complete the oxygen-nitrogen separation of air; the working pressure here is actually provided by the air compressor. When the compressed air pressure increases, the gas production of the finished nitrogen will increase accordingly; conversely, the gas production will decrease. Therefore, the relationship between compressed air pressure and nitrogen flow rate is also positively correlated.
It can be seen from the above that there is a close positive relationship between the flow rate and the air compressor. Conversely, the selection of the air compressor should also be based on the flow rate index of the nitrogen generation system to ensure that it can meet the user's needs.
Of course, when selecting an air compressor, parameters such as the purity, pressure, and dew point of the finished nitrogen, as well as the reserved power, also need to be considered to ensure that the air compressor can work in the best condition. Choosing a good air compressor is beneficial to the working efficiency of the PSA nitrogen generation system and the service life of the equipment.
