As we all know, when purchasing a piece of equipment, the quality of the equipment itself is important, but its installation is equally crucial. Poor installation may affect the efficiency of the equipment.
Let's take a look at the precautions for installing spiral wound tube heat exchangers:
- Do not remove the protective plugs from the interfaces of the spiral wound tube heat exchanger before installation.
- Before installation, ensure that the pipelines are clean and free of scale, metal chips, sand, stones, and other debris left after welding.
- Pay attention to the medium flow direction: the flow directions of the medium in the tube side and shell side should be countercurrent.
- When installing the connecting pipes of the spiral wound tube heat exchanger, forced assembly is strictly prohibited. Do not cause pipeline deformation or generate stress; the alignment must be carefully checked in both vertical and horizontal directions.
- The connecting pipelines should be able to expand and contract freely, and must not transmit fluid pulsation or mechanical vibration to the heat exchanger.
- During installation, do not damage the flange sealing surface of the spiral wound tube heat exchanger. Select an appropriate sealing gasket and fasten the connecting bolts evenly.
- Reserve a certain amount of space during installation to facilitate maintenance and inspection.
- Manual shut-off valves should be installed at all inlet and outlet ports, and bypass pipelines should be added to facilitate maintenance and inspection.
- 16-mesh Y-type filters (to prevent particles larger than 2 mm from entering the heat exchanger) must be installed at the inlets on both sides.
- When welding the connecting pipelines during installation, the welding ground wire should be connected to the welding position. It is strictly prohibited to connect the ground wire at a remote location, as this would cause the current loop to pass through the heat exchanger and result in damage.
