An acetylene generator is a device that produces acetylene gas through the reaction of calcium lime and coke.

Specifically, it consists of a furnace body, a feeding port, a gas outlet, a water seal, a heat exchanger, and other components. Its working principle is as follows: lime and coke are put into the furnace body, heated to react and generate acetylene gas, which is then discharged through the gas outlet. After being treated by the water seal and heat exchanger, the gas is delivered to the users.

Acetylene gas is produced by hydrolyzing calcium carbide, using the working mode of adding calcium carbide into water.

First, prepare calcium carbide with appropriate particle size and load it into the mobile hopper. After docking with the storage hopper, thoroughly displace the air inside with nitrogen.

Once the displacement is qualified, open the blanking butterfly valve to transfer the calcium carbide into the storage hopper.

Close the storage hopper, start the vibration motor, and feed the calcium carbide into the main generator.

The amount of calcium carbide added each time is referenced by the gas height or controlled in interlock with the gas holder.

When the calcium carbide meets water, it dissolves and generates acetylene gas, which overflows from the top washing tower and enters the gas holder for collection.

• If the generator is found to be frozen during use in winter, it can only be thawed with hot water or steam. It is strictly forbidden to use an open flame or a red-hot iron for baking, and it is even more forbidden to use ironware or other objects that are easy to produce sparks for knocking.
