U-tube steam-to-steam Heat Exchangers
Products Description
U-tube steam heat exchangers are the workhorses in the steam field and are widely used in various process steam applications. Their design is highly flexible, enabling them to meet the stringent requirements of steam systems.
Thanks to this flexibility, u-tube steam-to-steam heat exchangers can be used to heat different process products, CIP systems, water, process fluids, and more.
In short, a u-tube steam-to-steam heat exchangers consists of two distinct parts: one is a circular container or shell, and the other is a tube inside the shell.
Typically, steam is delivered to the shell side, transferring the energy from the steam to the process fluid in the tube without direct contact or mixing with the fluid.
GNEE's U-tube steam-to-steam thermal exchangers are designed to achieve optimal heat transfer, durability, and ease of maintenance, making them the preferred choice for demanding applications.
Main Features of U-tube Heat Exchangers
Thermal Expansion Accommodation: The U-bend design naturally allows for differential thermal expansion between the shell and the tubes, reducing stress and enhancing lifespan.
Ease of Cleaning (Tube Side): The tube interiors can often be mechanically or chemically cleaned.
Removable Bundle: In many designs, the entire U-tube bundle can be removed from the shell for inspection, thorough cleaning, repair, or replacement.
Versatile Applications: Suitable for heating various fluids, commonly steam-to-water or water-to-water applications in calorifiers and process heating.
Structural Advantages
- U-tube construction.
- Units designed for liquid to liquid (PW) and steam to liquid (PS) applications.
- Available in standard 2 or 4 pass construction.
- Removable tube bundles for convenience in cleaning and inspection.
- Strong, durable construction with stainless steel tubes and rugged cast-iron or steel head in standard units. (Optional materials are available).
- U-tube and baffle arrangements designed to maximize heat transfer performance.
- Tubes expanded into stationary tubesheet allow for tube expansions and contractions, due to thermal fluctuations, without causing stresses on the joints. Welding tubes to the tubesheet is optional.
- Customization of units with higher pressures, temperature ratings, and other materials possible.
ABOUT US
